Lesson (3) – Transport in Plants, Human Circulatory System & Respiration | Integrated Science – Term 2 – Grade 10 🌿🫀⚡

In this lesson, we study how materials move inside living organisms. We begin with Transport of water in plants and Transport of food in plants, then move to the Human circulatory system, Blood circulation, and Blood pressure. Finally, we explain Respiration in living organisms and how it provides energy for life processes. The lesson helps students connect plant transport, human transport, and respiration in one organized scientific picture ✅

Learning Objectives ✅

  • Explain how water rises in higher plants through xylem (الخشب).
  • Understand how food is transported in plants and how mineral salts are absorbed.
  • Identify the main parts and function of the human circulatory system.
  • Differentiate between major and minor blood circulation.
  • Describe blood pressure and compare aerobic and anaerobic respiration.

Lesson Parts 🎬

  • Part 1: Transport of water in plants
  • Part 2: Transport of food in plants
  • Part 3: Human circulatory system
  • Part 4: Human blood circulation
  • Part 5: Blood pressure
  • Part 6: Respiration in living organisms

Organized Content 📌

  • 1) Transport of water in plants
    • Water rises through xylem because of cohesion (التماسك), adhesion (التلاصق), and transpiration pull (قوة النتح).
    • Transpiration is the loss of water vapor from leaves through stomata.
  • 2) Transport of food in plants
    • Plants transport food from leaves to other parts after photosynthesis.
    • Mineral salts may enter by diffusion or active transport (النقل النشط).
  • 3) Human circulatory system
    • The system consists of the heart and blood vessels.
    • Its function is to transport oxygen and nutrients to body cells.
  • 4) Blood circulation
    • There are two main circuits: systemic circulation and pulmonary circulation.
    • Arteries carry blood away from the heart, veins return blood to the heart, and capillaries allow exchange with tissues.
  • 5) Blood pressure
    • Blood pressure is the force of blood against vessel walls.
    • Normal reading is commonly written as 120/80.
  • 6) Respiration in living organisms
    • Aerobic respiration produces more energy in the presence of oxygen.
    • Anaerobic respiration produces less energy and may lead to lactic acid accumulation in muscles.

Common Mistakes ⚠️

  • Confusing xylem with food transport tissue.
  • Mixing up arteries and veins.
  • Thinking anaerobic respiration produces the same energy as aerobic respiration.

By the end of the lesson… you can explain transport in plants, circulation in humans, and respiration with confidence ✅

المتطلبات

الأسئلة الشائعة

اطلع على الأسئلة الشائعة حول هذا الدرس.

What helps water rise in higher plants
Water rises because of cohesion, adhesion, and transpiration pull.
What is the function of the circulatory system?
It transports oxygen and nutrients to body cells and helps remove wastes.
What is the difference between arteries and veins?
Arteries carry blood away from the heart, while veins return blood to the heart.
What is normal blood pressure؟
A common normal reading is 120/80.
Why is anaerobic respiration less efficient؟
Because it produces much less ATP than aerobic respiration.
